While our office and most of the US markets are closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, we wanted to pass along some great holiday reading material that we thought might be of interest to you.
Last week, Airline Economics, published an article featuring Mike Corley, which explores the current state of commercial airline fuel hedging titled, The Big Fuel Gamble. The article is chock full of interesting data and information, including a look at the current fuel hedges of many commercial airlines, as well as opinions from executives at Delta and U.S. Airways.
In the November issue of Futures Industry Magazine, Tom Doggett interviewed Mike and many other industry experts for a product profile article titled ICE's Gasoil Contract. Tom's article explores the surge in open interest in the ICE gasoil contract including as well as various aspects of fuel hedging.
Last but not least, in a recent edition of Platts' Inside FERC’s Gas Market Report, Ana Gnezditskaia interviewed Mike for her column which explored the current state of hedging among oil and gas producers.
NYMEX & ICE Thanksgiving Schedules: CME/NYMEX Globex pits are closed all day Thursday but open on Friday. CME/NYMEX Globex (electronic trading) closes at on Thursday at 10:30 AM CT and reopens Thursday at 5:00PM CT. ICE is open for business as usual.
